A conversion is straightforward and can be done in minutes, simply remove the filament lamp and fit the Light Engine in it’s place. Connect the two flying leads directly to the Main and Common terminals and replace the filament changeover relay with the substitute unit provided.

The installation of the unit is designed to address other areas of potential failure associated with the existing filament lamp design. The Light Engine is hard-wired into the signal and does not use the lamp holder contact springs to provide the electrical connections. Although the unit will function with the existing filament changeover relay installed it is no longer required, a replacement unit is included with every Light Engine and should be fitted in place of the relay to provide the required through connections.

Following successful trials earlier this year the LED Light Engine now has full and unrestricted product approval from Network Rail and is compatible with all existing signalling systems, input voltages and alarm circuitry.

Each Light Engine is colour specific and can only be fitted in the corresponding colour of aspect – Red, Yellow and Green for use in Colour Light applications, White for use in Junction Indicators.
